Stanford football players, coaches say defense will be fine

Going into the next football season at Stanford, the talk will be about how explosive the offense should be and how much experience it has. As for the defense, the talk will be: Who are those guys? This will be the least experienced Cardinal defense of the Jim Harbaugh/David Shaw era.

With outside linebacker Kevin Anderson and cornerback Ronnie Harris nursing injuries, defensive coordinator Lance Anderson said, Were practicing with one guy now whos ever started a game. Thanks to two fumbled snaps, the defense won 6-2, resulting in 20 pushups by the offensive players. Playing against a high-powered offense will challenge the green defense and should make it better.
